Goering iSeries Solutions releases enhanced AS400 XLS Tool. Flagship product has once again added new features.

September 1, 2004 -- Goering iSeries Solutions has extended the functionality of iExcelGen once again by adding the following features:

* Support for Excel2000
* Automatically splits output over 65,000 records into multiple tabs
* Create multiple tabs in a workbook
* ZIP the XLS file automatically
* FTP the XLS file automatically
* Update Mode allows users to export their data into a pre-formatted XLS template.

iExcelGen offers users the ability to create a MS-Excel file and then have that file automatically emailed to a list of recipients,( i.e. A weekly sales report, without having to manually download the data, import it into MS-Excel, manually attach the XLS file, and then still have to enter the intended recipients into an email.) A customer can configure iExcelGen to send emails containing the XLS files using their own SMTP server. Commands can be executed either on the command line or in batch. With the Spool add-on, formatting future reports is a one time setup of the spool file.

"With the latest enhancements, users can now export their data into workbooks without loosing any formatting set in the template. Also they can now create spreadsheets with graphs." said Randy Shaw, Director of Operations, Goering iSeries Solutions. "The ability to have the AS400 export data to an XLS file, ZIP it and have the file ‘pushed' via email or FTP will result in an incredible return on investment for system administrators. Using iExcelgen also provides the non-programmer access to AS400 data while maintaining the integrity of system security."

iExcelGen and the spool add-on, along with iGetExcel, provide customers a highly effective channel for uploading and downloading AS400 data while minimizing or even eliminating the need for manual intervention. Programmers can facilitate reporting and data capturing with an easy-to-build and maintain interface that their users are comfortable with.

iExcelGen is available on a per-machine basis. No "per-seat" licensing is needed. Pricing is based on the model and processor, allowing smaller companies to afford the same functionality as their larger counterparts.
